Nosso Senhor Do Bonfim Festival (Our Lord of the Happy Endings Festival) falls on second Thursday after the Three Kings celebration. Considered as one of the most colorful festivals in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, people gather at the Church of Conceição da Praia for a procession to Bonfim Church. Women wash the church steps and square with scented water. The complete celebration and ritual starts today and continues for 10 days. It is a celebration of devotion to Our Lord of Bonfim and a blessing for those participating in the procession.
